What are hook words?
Hook words in Scrabble and Words with Friends are words formed from another word by prepending or appending a single letter to it. The fastest way to do so is by creating the pluralized version of the word (e.g. hook -> hooks).
Why do I need hook words?
In games like Scrabble and Words with Friends you can extend already existing words on the board. You pratically steal all of your opponent's effort by simply extending their word with an 'S' or something. Most insanely high scores can only be achieved by hooking words.
